Moses Basket Safety Update
Here at Three Little Cubs, we take the safety of our Moses baskets very seriously and are transparent about this information. We recently made some changes to our Classic Moses basket, and we want to provide you with an update on the safety of our products.
Our original Classic Moses basket was tested and certified safe under BS EN 1466:2023. However, after increasing the size of our baskets to 75x34cm, we were informed that the safety certification could not be applied to this product, due to the increase in width, the previous size was 75x29cm.
BS EN 1466:2023 is a recommended (not legally required) British Standard that tests a product’s structural integrity and ensures it meets certain requirements for a baby’s safety, it does not mean that a product helps to reduce the chance of SIDS, but just guarantees a certain level of general safety (e.g. will not fall apart). There are no specific safe sleep tests that can determine the chances of SIDS. We rely on guidance from the Lullaby Trust for safe sleep recommendations.
While we work on getting our larger base and Hooded Moses basket tested, we are dedicated to following the safety guidelines and standards set by BS EN 1466:2023 and the Lullaby Trust. We understand the importance of sourcing our products responsibly and are working to find suitable testing facilities outside of China to reduce our carbon footprint. The previous UK testing facility no longer offers this test, so we are having to do a bit more research on finding a new testing centre.
We want to assure our customers that the safety of our Moses baskets is of the utmost importance to us. We will continue to review and uphold the highest safety standards for our products.
